AI Summary

The US Coast Guard is conducting a Sources Sought notice for an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to perform inspection, survey, and maintenance repairs on the CGC HEALY (WAGB-20), a polar icebreaker, for FY28 and beyond. Responses are due October 29, 2026, with interested parties contacting Andrew Jacobs or LCDR Ryan Ostrander. This is an early market research notice best suited for shipyards with demonstrated polar icebreaker or large cutter repair experience.

Key Requirements

•Offerors must have a shipyard capable of drydocking and repairing the CGC HEALY, a 420-foot polar icebreaker, and likely hold or obtain a Master Ship Repair Agreement (MSRA) with the US Coast Guard or Navy. Prior experience on polar-class vessels or equivalent complex cutter availabilities is the primary discriminator.
